Let’s Talk About the NSALE
It’s here sisters! That sale that the girls you follow on the ‘gram won’t shut up about. I have covered the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale since I started this site in 2013 and I have to say… sometimes it does get out of control, but I’m here to cure your sale overwhelm with outfits you can piece together from items in the sale (that are actually worth it!). So here we go… 20 actual outfits that everyday girls can wear that are part of the NSALE!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here so I’m rounding up my favorites in lots of categories. I appreciate how concise the sale is this year and the fluff being removed from what I’ve seen in previous year. I’ve included best sellers in the looks below for easy shopping inspo.
Personally, I’m shopping for basics and closet staples and home items. (You know I’m on a home kick!). Last year I purchased a lot of things that I didn’t end up wearing so I’m going to be much more thoughtful in the clothing section this year. I will not be shopping in store this year and ordering online. I’m considered “Influencer” status (LOL!) and can’t shop until August 10th.
As always, Nordstrom has FREE SHIPPING and FREE RETURNS on EVERYTHING!
Tip: You can add things to your cart and/or your favorites so everything is there on the day you’re ready to shop. Just know, however, items sell out so fast (that wish list is going to be a life saver).
Outfit #1: Pumpkin Spice Please
This one is one of my favorites! We can start ordering PSL’s in a couple weeks so it seemed fitting. This sweater is my top pick from the sale. It comes in four colors and is the ultimate Fall layering piece. The jeans are my ride or die fit from Madewell and I can’t wait to have this wash.
Top it off with a wool hat (this one is so good and under $50), a nude lip (this one is a cult favorite and comes in a trio set), a pair of earrings, suede booties, and a leopard statement bag.
Outfit #2: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
This outfit is the perfect everyday look for girls who like to have a little fun! I have this tee in a different color combo and think I need this one too. I adore it paired with denim on denim and the cutest white platform high-top sneaks. These come in low-top too so I’ll link them below.
Outfit #3: A Whole Latte Fall
This outfit reminds me of sipping lattes on a patio with friends in October. Side note: if I could get anything back from quarantine it would be my coffee shop work dates with my girlfriends. I’m getting so lonely at home…
This plaid trench comes in regular and plus sizes! I adore the color combo so much. The sweater was from outfit #1, but in a gorgeous wine color. Throw on some booties, a high waisted jean, neutral bag, and a nude lip for the perfect fall outfit.
OUTFIT #4: NOT YOUR AVERAGE CHEETAH GIRL
Okay real talk, sometimes I want to dress like the cool kids in college. There, I said it! This look is the most epic outfit of my NSALE finds I swear. I adore this dress paired with a high top sneaker. Throw on any simple accessories for an easy, but cool girl vibes outfit.
Outfit #5: I Didn’t Work Out, But You Think I Did
Lots of faux leather legging outfits. These leggings are the budget buy of the sale and are not the same quality level of Spanx or Commando, but are better than other affordable leggings I’ve tried before. I got these two years ago and do like them, but don’t love them. The pullover is so good! I got another color option in this last year and it is so soft and great to have to throw on when you want to be warm, but not totally bundled up.
Outfit #6 I’m Basic, But Not Completely
This outfit is so me. Some days I just want to keep things simple. Having pieces like this that I know go together no matter what and that look good on me are key. I have these booties and am ordering these jeans and the sweater! (These booties sold out last year in the NSALE, heads up!)
If you are on the hunt for a good basic bag I recommend this one! A great price for Tory Burch and the color goes with literally everything.
Outfit #7: I’m a Hot Girl, I do Hot Things
This dress is absolutely precious. I fell in love with Eliza J Dresses a few years ago when the were first getting started and we partnered together. Classic and feminine to a t! Isn’t that print mix so good?
I love mixing dresses with booties and a hat for fall. This whole look is my 2020 Fall vibe and I’m here for it. This is a look I will for sure be ordering.
Outfit #8: I listened To Folklore Too Many Times
Okay, but I had to get a T. Swift reference in there somehow. I adore this look. So neutral, but the fit of the denim and cut of the sweater are so on trend. I got these jeans last year and adore them. The perfect cut for girls with booty who often have a gap at the waist with their jeans.
If you’re looking for a good booty I highly recommend this one. I love the snake print, but they also come in 4 other colors.
Outfit #9: Mean Girl Look, Nice Girl Vibes
This was the first look I put together and I adore it. The spanx leggings will go in and out of stock, but keep your eyes on them! They are so good for everyday wear. This jacket is top of my wishlist. I get a utility jacket every year bc it’s such a good layering piece. (This jacket and these leggings are already selling out in the first few days of pre-sale for the NSALE FYI)
That tee is another one that I have in my closet. One of my favorite brands for graphic tees. I found those booties and almost died. They are such a good look for less for the Gucci booties.
I’ve worn this bag in navy on the blog years ago and LOVED it! Such a great work tote and her calf hair is such great quality. Throw on a red lip (my favorite winter red is in the sale!) and some earrings and go girl!
Outfit #10: Watermelon Sugar, Hi!
This outfit gives me some Sharpay vibes from HSM, but I’m okay with it. Those jeans are crop flares and so flattering. I love this sweater because the color combo has a vintage vibe to it.
These booties are such a great way to rock a trend without going in too deep. They are a cream vs a stark white and will work year round. Throw on some fun accessories like this baker boy cap and grab your microphone like Sharpay sister.
Outfit #11: Summer Never Ends Here
One of my only semi- summer looking outfits, but the dress had to be included. I adore this color and fit and smocking is so flattering. This dress would be precious for Fall weddings (if they happen) and I adore it paired with this must-have Brixton hat, Kendra Scott Earrings, nude heels, and neutral bag.
This would totally work for a 9-5 vibe with a different shoe or Church. Make it work for your vibe, but this dress is a top contender if you need to up your dress game.
Outfit #12: Go Sports and Stuff
I adore this sweater. The cut is so me and I love a balloon sleeve. I picture this sweater and denim combo for Football games (whether from home or tailgating). So cute paired with that darling hat, neutral booties, and a neutral bag.
Outfit #13: When Leggings are Totally Pants
I had to include a look with these leggings. I did a comparison of these to the Spanx last year and my stance is the same. I love them both, but for different reasons. These feel more like a true leather pant. There is no waist band, the only seam is down the back and front and inside of the leg. So flattering and elongating. The hem is also raw and not constricting which I love. I love these for more elevated looks that need pants rather than a true legging. When you feel these you will get what I’m saying. These feel like butter. Run true to size and I get a medium. (I’ve bought them the last two years of the NSALE).
I love this look. So fun paired with that lace top. It’s selling out fast and I’m praying my size in this color stays stocked til the 10th. How cute is it with a black bootie and that baker boy cap? A flirty, but feminine look that anyone can rock.
Outfit #14: We Are So Getting Brunch After This
This pink set was one of the first things to hit my wish list. I adore this brand but it’s pricey. This is a great time to buy if you’ve been interested. I love the color and the back of the sports bra is so fun. I have this water bottle too and love it. I’ve broken my plastic water bottle habit and keep this in the fridge overnight to have water for my workout in the morning.
I got Luke these sneaks last year in white and he loves them. I personally will be buying the dupe for these (linking here) that happen to be under $20! Shhhhhh! They sell out fast so hurry!
Outfit #15 For When You Need to Get a Sweat Sesh in without Human Interaction
These leggings really are a booty boost! I have them and love them. Their sports bras are also amazing for those who like a firm support. You won’t feel exposed in this working out… such a great fit! Run true to size! I get a medium in leggings and sports bras! (Spanx items are always some of the first to sell out in the NSALE)
Outfit #16: When You Need to Look Like You have a Clue What You’re Doing at the Gym, but don’t
I love this color for fall. These leggings were my favorite from the sale last year and I love that they are back in other color options. Size up, they run small. I get a large. The sports bra runs true to size.
Outfit #17: When You Want to Blend in, but also Stand out
These are the exact leggings I got last year. I adore the fit. I spotted this sports bra and just had to add it to the wishlist. I love the laser cut detail. This brand runs true to size in sports bras, but 1x small in bottoms so size up with those. Linking exact shoes and cheaper option below. (Zella is always a top NSALE sell out brand!)
Outfit #18: For that Zoom Meeting They Shouldn’t Have Scheduled for 8am
With how much time we are spending at home this is a must. I have been living in lounge and love the snake print. I recommend sizing up in this brand.
I love these slippers (they will sell out in the first few days of the NSALE). Sometimes a closed toe option is just too hot. These will work year round. True to size.
I have this blanket and love it so much. So soft and cozy and cheaper than the Barefoot Dreams. I threw in the candle for good measure because it’s my favorite scent, so cute, and on major sale.
Outfit #19: For Sleeping In On Sundays
These pj’s sell out every year. They feel like butter and give me the best sleep. How cute would you be cozied up in this matching Barefoot Dreams blanket and the softest slippers? (That blanket is an NSALE top seller and will be gone fast!) Just saying… stay at home chic is a whole vibe. (size up in the pj’s! I get a large!)
Outfit #20: Weeknight Cozies To Throw on at 5:01pm
Going with a theme here, but I’m not mad about it. I’ve heard so many of my friends rave about this lounge brand so I was excited to see some pieces included in the sale. I love the color combo here and honestly might get the slippers in this color because they are so good.
This blanket is a great budget friendly alternative to the BFD blankets and feel so nice. I have one and got Luke’s Mom one a couple years ago and she loves it too.
I hope this was helpful for you guys. Seeing a screen of items is so overwhelming even for me as a blogger and I wanted to show you how you could put these items to use. I have a page dedicated to top picks here and will continue to post content relating to the sale through the month of August. I also wanted to add the image below with more info on dates for the sale.
Thank you so much for shopping my links and supporting my business. It means the world to me.
Enjoy the NSALE this year!
