Colleen Rothschild SkinCare:
I’ve been using a new skin care regimen the last few weeks and I’m in love. I demo’d this last week on insta-stories and got a lot of great feedback. Colleen Rothschild is a luxury skincare line that doesn’t cost a million dollars, but works like it really should. I’m going to break down my favorite products from theColleen Rothschild line, how they work, and what I love about them for you today.
First things first, the Colleen Rothschild amazing cleansing balm! Oh my word! This is what I call the “modern-day cold cream”. Why? It does have the slight hint of a cold cream smell, but what I really love is the cooling effect it has while it is working its magic and melting all your makeup off! It gets everything off, but doesn’t leave your skin feeling stripped. Using this alone makes my skin feel amazing. It feels smooth, hydrated, and fresh. You know that feeling when you take of your makeup at the end of the day and sigh relief? This is like that x1000. Seriously.
The product feels almost like a jelly. A small amount will work for your whole face and neck. Just start rubbing it in and work your way up from your neck to your forehead, wait about 30 seconds, and then wipe your face.Colleen Rothschild recommends a muslin cloth and the product actually comes with one. It’s okay if you don’t have one or lose yours, but I do prefer to remove this with the muslin cloth. It’s just a little easier on your skin.
For step 2, I use the Enzyme polish. This stuff works wonders. I’ve never been super into physical exfoliators (meaning the product has beady pieces that help to buff your skin). I always have leaned toward a chemical exfoliant. This Colleen Rothschild product changed my mind. The beads are soft and it truly does polish your skin. I do this every other day to help my other products really absorb into my skin. I’ve noticed a huge difference, especially with how my makeup applies.
After using theColleen Rothschild balm, I just take a tiny amount of this and apply it to my face when it’s still a little damp. Take about 30-60 seconds and buff it all over. I even use this on my lips to help get the dead skin off. After that just rinse and blot dry with a dry cloth. Your skin will now feel like a babys bottom, seriously. This also smells amazing by the way. It has a citrus scent.
2X a week I use the amazing Detox Mask. ThisColleen Rothschild mask is by far the best I’ve ever used. I often feel like I need to use multiple at a time to get the job done, but this one really does everything I need at once. I was blown away when I read the ingredients: Activated charcoal and French Kaolin clay, pure micronized silver, and a blend of Vitamin C and Willowherb. These ingredients balance your skin, extract impurities, kill bacteria, brighten, and soothe. I think the biggest thing for me was the silver. I’ve been incorporating silver into my routine for the last year. It kills everything! From ear infections, sinus infections, cuts, and more; I’ve been able to break away from lots of chemicals and use something natural. I love that this mask contains silver.
A tiny dab will cover your entire face. I steam my face for a few minutes before (You can do this with a hot washcloth laid over your face) and then apply and leave on for 10-15 minutes. TheColleen Rothschild mask gives the craziest cooling sensation, but it doesn’t burn. I loved that! Most other masked I’ve tried that were for cleaning out pores and clearing blemishes made my skin feel like it had been lit on fire. This doesn’t do that! After it has dried, I rinse off and go straight into the rest of my skincare routine. I will be ordering a full size of this when I run out!
Next, I go in with the Colleen Rothschild Face Oil No. 9. It gives my skin the instant hydration it needs and leaves my skin looking vibrant and fresh. Oil used to scare me. I would use oil free everything. Now I realize I wasn’t giving my skin the nourishment it needed. Since using this oil I no longer have dry patches and I always have this glow to my skin. I just take one pump and apply it all over my face and neck. At night I take it onto my decollette too since that area is often forgotten about and needs hydration as well. It doesn’t claim to do this, but I have noticed a significant decrease in dark spots and hyper-pigmentation since I started using this.
For day, I use the Colleen Rothschild Sheer Renewal Cream. It’s light enough to wear under my foundation and still gives my skin the boost it needs for the day. This cream is lightweight, but not watery light some lighter moisturizers can be. I really love how it makes my skin feel throughout the day and it is a nice topper after the facial oil.
At night I go for more intense hydration. I can’t say enough good things about the Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery Cream. This is much thicker than the day cream I use, and really soaks into your skin while you are sleeping. It might feel a little heavy when you first apply, but when you wake up in the morning your skin looks and feels awake, revived, and bright. It really is a transformation cream in my opinion. I am obsessed and am soon going to have to buy the full size!
Finally, I am for the first time in my life taking care of my lips! I have neglected this for so long and I’m not even sure why. The Colleen Rothschild ultimate lip hydration balm is amazing. I use this at night, but also during the day. Our lips seem to dry out first and are a good indicator of how hydrated we are. Keep them hydrated and sip on water throughout the day. Those two things help so much!
In case you couldn’t tell this past year, skin care has become a huge content piece for this blog. I LOVE talking about skincare and beauty and it’s so nice to take a break from sharing outfits. We all struggle with finding great products that work and beauty posts are by far my favorite to read. I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback and will continue to incorporate lots of beauty content. If there is anything specific you would like to see feel free to email me at hello@theglittergospelblog.com or comment below!
