The Outfit:
Sweater (almost sold out EVERYWHERE), Jeans (best fit for most body types! Runs TTS), Booties, Earrings (sold out, similar here), Beret, Bag, Lip Color
Unless you are a Southwestern girl or a Florida girl, RN you are so freaking cold… am I right? Yes I am. So here’s the deal. I am totally over sweaters and such unless there is some snow on the ground or it’s Christmas…otherwise… bye felicia! So I obviously can’t just wear spring/summer gear when it’s freezing most of the time, so I just add little pops of color. It makes me happier and reminds me that warmer weather is on the way. (We are almost to February so about 60’ish days until at least 60+ is the daily high!) I could easily take this a little too far… so I have a little equation I do. My base can be color with all other pieces being neutral or my base can be neutral and my other pieces can pop the color. It won’t work otherwise.
Here I went with option 2. My base is all neutrals. These Madewell jeans (sooo good you guys), my go-to booties, and my beret are all neutral (and the shoes and beret match so that pulls it together). The pop of color is my sweater, earrings, and lip color. It keeps it from being overwhelming and lets the color really get the attention it deserves. Say if I had added a hot pink beret here… it would have gone into overkill mode. This is just enough without being loud and crazy.
I actually couldn’t believe this sweater was still available. I rarely spend over $50 on sweaters unless they are a neutral color and cashmere blend… I just swap them out too often. It caught my eye early fall and I just couldn’t bring myself to spend $150 on it. Now it’s $100 off and still available in a couple sizes. Such score! Are you like me? Some things I can totally splurge on even right in the moment and then others… no way! Free people is one of my favorite brands and they do amazing sales! Like AMAZING! So keep your eyes peeled on their site! I will try to keep you updated via IG stories and my weekly emails if I see a sale come through!
