Let’s Talk about the Rodan and Fields SOOTHE Regimen:
Let me start out by saying that once upon a time 5 years ago I tried not only this line but the entire product assortment of Rodan + Fields and this was the one collection I kept in my beauty cabinet. This one is something I loved because it was so gentle and especially during either super hot or super cold months it has been amazing to have on hand.
I suffer from eczema and it comes in patches on my nose, chin, neck, and back. It has been really difficult to deal with because I also am acne prone and in my thirties, so I have other skin care needs as well. Hardly anything ever seems to work for it. Having this on hand has truly been a life saver over the years and allows me to also use other products in my regimen that would otherwise be irritating to my skin.
I’m so excited to be partnering with R+F today because it’s a full circle moment of reviewing the new + improved SOOTHE Regimen, a line I have had in rotation for years. My husband even loves it. So now let’s break down the line.
Step 1 | Calming Gel Cleanser:
This cleanser is a sensitive skin girl’s dream. I love this for those days my skin just isn’t having a more aggressive cleanser. Sometimes I get a little crazy when doing treatments or trying new products and having sensitive skin it’s definitely not always the best outcome. I can always count on being able to use this to still be able to cleanse even when my skin is very reactive and on edge from using too many harsh products or doing peels, etc. I personally tend to go hard when it comes to skincare.
I also love this line in the summer. Being in the sun so much more than usual definitely takes a toll on your skin and this is just the quench of nourishment your skin needs in moments like that. I especially love having this on hand if I have any sort of sunburn. I consider this a beach trip essential for sure.
-Glycerin: Maintains and strengthens skin’s moisture barrier without disrupting its pH
-Bisabolol: Helps to calm dry, irritated skin and reduce visible redness
Step 2 | Sensitive Skin treatment:
This treatment truly feels like a cool drink of water for your skin. Consider it your dry skin day hydration MVP. During times of sensitivity, visible redness,, or dryness I always go reaching for this product. It helps reduce any visible redness your skin would be experiencing. The formula includes their proprietary RFp2 Peptide Complex works to soothe and calm the skin, while Allantoin and Dimethicone work as skin protectants. It has the smoothest, silky texture and feels super luxurious when putting it on.
I find applying it to my nose and chin especially helps to even things out for better overall skin appearance and a much better makeup application a ton. The beauty of this line is that it’s not only treating your skin concern of sensitivity, but protecting it at the same time.
-Cherimoya Fruit Extract: Calms stressed-looking skin, pacifying dry, irritation for less sensitive and
more balanced skin
-Allantoin (OTC 0.5%): Skin protectant
-Dimethicone (OTC 2%): Skin protectant
-Dual-Licorice Technology: Soothes skin so it looks and feels relaxed
-Proprietary RFp2 Peptide Complex: Soothes and calms the skin
Step 3 | Moisturizing Rescue Cream:
Have you ever tried a moisturizer that was the equal amount of thick and silky? That’s what I feel about this cream. It truly smoothes skin and creates a great protective layer. It sinks right in and truly leaves my skin feeling supple and soft. I love this for both day and night, but for night I apply more for a thicker application that almost works as a hydrating overnight mask. Go lighter in the AM to create a great base for your makeup.
Wake up in the morning after lathering this on and you will certainly notice a visible improvement in your skin.
-Colloidal Oatmeal (1% OTC): Temporarily protects and helps relieve dry, itchy, eczema-prone skin for
-7 Essential Ceramides: Nourish and relieve skin while supplying essential building blocks to strengthen
skin’s moisture barrier
Step 4 | Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30:
You truly need to be applying sunscreen daily, regardless of the weather. This one is SPF 30 so it’s great for everyday. It is super light weight and doesn’t have an oily residue like lots of other sunscreens do. The formula calms, soothes and minimizes visible redness and is also fragrance free + non-comedogenic. Layer this over top your rescue cream and you’re good to go or apply your makeup for the day if you’re going glam.
-100% Mineral-based Sunscreen Actives: Protects against UVA + UVB, while defending sensitive skin
-Artichoke Leaf Extract and Patented RF3 Antioxidant complex: Fortifies skin’s moisture barrier to
defend against environmental aggressors.
The SOOTHE Regimen line has been tried and true for years, but it has been newly improved with even better ingredients and advanced technologies for even better results. I can’t wait to hear your feedback after you try.
