Summer 2018 is finally in full swing… and I thought how fun would it be to share my bucket-list for the summer here on TGG. I have so many things I want to do this summer and a LOT of them involve staying close to home. That may sound crazy, but I’ve barely been home this year and I have so much to get caught up on and to be honest… I’ve been home-sick!
So here we go… my bucket-list for Summer 2018:
Dollywood: I’m sure this is no surprise, but this girl loves Dolly Parton! I absolutely love heading to the Smokey Mountains once a season… and Summer is always so fun because of all the little ones running around. Luke also LOVES rollercoasters… so that will be on the agenda too!
Yoga:Â I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I want to get into yoga! My Chiropractor teaches at Real Hot Yoga… and she’s convinced me my anxiety-riddled self needs it desperately! I actually took some Bikrim classes when I lived in Philly and loved it! So I’m going to challenge myself to go to one class a week this summer.
Nightly hour Walks with Luke, Rose, and Lemon:Â Luke and I are so busy… and we often overlook nightly time together. So every night I want an hour of phone free time with him and the babies. Our neighborhood is perfect for family walks so this is going to be great for us!
Saturdays at the Farmer’s Market:Â If you have a Farmer’s Market in your area… I highly recommend going! The produce is much more fresh and you’ll be supporting local business. This is also a great place to take the family and the pups… so Lemon will for sure be coming with.
Hire an in-home Dog Trainer: If you and I are IRL friends… you know this, but we are struggling a lot with Rose right now. She has become super aggressive when it comes to protecting our house. Any stranger danger signs and she loses it… so we are hiring someone to come in and help us out. Pray for us is all I have to say.
Hiking the Chimney Tops:Â It gets so hot in our area… and getting to higher altitude is a necessity! They Chimney tops are a gorgeous hiking route in the Smokey Mountains and a TOTAL must see! I’ll make sure to share pics from our trip!
Biking the Creeper Trail: The Creeper Trail is a gorgeous stretch of area in Southwest Virginia. It is part of the Appalachian Trail and is known for gorgeous views. Such a great summertime activity!
Making Watermelon Smoothies: Sound gross? You cray! Jk, but really! I tried this from a local coffee shop called Vienna in downtown Knoxville and fell in love. All things watermelon are my jam! The mix they made has mint and apple juice and oh my gosh it was delish! Stay tuned for a post on that this summer!
Have a get-together at the new house: This is TBD as we have SO much still to get done to the house, but I can’t wait to entertain!! Moving has been so exciting and the whole point for us what to develop community and spend more time with people we love… so I’m really excited for this!
Skirt, Tee (local find from Swank Floral), Sneakers, Jacket, Bandana
