Glamping in Style with the Vera Bradley Weekender:

As promised! I’m starting to share the details on our Glamping Adventure in the Smokey Mountains. This by far was my favorite family trip Luke and I have had since getting married. It was easy, stress free, and fun! I will be sharing more of what we did in the coming posts, but for today I wanted to share all about the bags that made packing for this trip so easy! Vera Bradley has been a household name for me for over 10 years. I can remember begging for a new tote to carry for college and every time a new print came out I just had to have it. I actually still have two pieces that aren’t quite on trend, but I can’t part ways with because my mom got them for me. They were part of the Breast Cancer Awareness line circa maybe 2008 and at this point my daughter may be using it someday. I’m not a hoarder, but little things like that mean so much to me. Needless to say, Vera Bradley and I have been partners in crime for a long time. They’ve really upped their game the last few years too! So many gorgeous pieces that are classic and clean and go with everything. They’ve even introduced some gorgeous leather pieces that are STUNNING.

Bag c/o// Jacket// Tee// Jeans// Boots// Hat// Lip

This pretty is numero uno. This is the Iconic Vera Bradley Weekender. This is the larger version and seriously fits everything! I was able to pack four outfits, four pairs of shoes, pajamas, my toiletries, and my extra handbags all in this guy. Crazy! This Vera Bradley Weekender also has the best little trolley slider that goes right over the handle of your rolling luggage. If you’re an avid flyer this will be your life saver. I’m obsessed with this bag. The classic color is also everything! I took this on my trip this past weekend as well and got so many compliments. Red is such a statement color!

Bag c/o// Jacket// Top// Jeans// Hat// Slides ($19.99 right now!!!!)// Lip

My compact  Vera Bradley Weekender version is in a gorgeous print called Lilac Medallion. This is more of an overnight bag, or  a good carry on when you’re traveling. Maybe if you are just amazing at packing you could pack for a full weekend in this, but for me my makeup, laptop, IPAD, and chargers went in here. It makes for an amazing work bag and has a great little slot for charging your phone! You can loop your charger straight through it and it holds it in place. Total win especially when you’re traveling and your phone is always dying like mine… thanks a lot instagram! (You know I’m right there!)

I can’t tell you how much fun it was to finally camp. Now, you probably won’t catch me in a tent anytime soon… but this was a good intro to camping. We were able to take the puppies, hike, have a fire every night and roast marshmallows… it was so much fun! I can’t wait to go back. We stayed at the LeConte Luxury Camping Resort that is literally just a couple miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. It also allowed us to come in the back way which if you have been to Gatlinburg before you know this is huge! Otherwise we would have taken another hour and a half to get there! I can’t wait to go back because they have other amazing accommodations like luxury safari tents and treehouse cabins that you can rent! So fun!

It’s so true that Instagram can make itself not so much fun. I noticed that once I stopped caring about trends and worrying about every little thing, I had much more fun. It’s all about being social to me and the connections made via IG is what makes it one of my favorite platforms rather worrying about every little number. Also, agree with follows to be genuine! Great post!

    • Absolutely! couldn’t agree more! What is “trendy” isn’t always true to your brand! I’m way more focused on branding right now then spending way too much time fishing for likes on the internet! Lol!

  • I’m having crazy amounts of love for this post, girlfriend. You’ve definitely inspired me to make IG fun again! Thank you for this!

    Stephanie // SheSawStyle.com

    • Yes girl!!!! We don’t have to let the random rumors and whispers about social media take the fun out of it! <3

  • Wife Sense

I’m a new blogger and opened an Instagram account only because I felt I had to. The only attention I pay it is to post a picture of my post Pins. And after just 4 months, I have 380 followers. Now I think that’s great for doing nothing to get them. No thing. Who are these people?! lol

    • That’s Awesome! I think instagram serves a different purpose for everyone! Make it work for you!

  • YES. i love this! i’m part of a lot of blogging groups and it’s like the same convo every day – “how do i get more engagement, follow for follow… etc etc.” engaging like a REAL HUMAN is so important – taking maybe an hour out of your day to go through feeds comment, and like is so important.. IG bots are *ugh* don’t even get me started on those.
i know aesthetic is everything but i’m finally switching my mentality and posting what i love instead of what i feel like would get more likes! <3

    • Yes girl! I have to admit…. the last few days I’ve had a couple posts not do well, but I try to just shake if off and move on! What’s the point otherwise?

  • Share what you love is the best tip! I hate seeing automated, generic posts or quotes on instagrams. I love seeing the real life, behind the scenes photos!!

    • Agreed. You want people to like you for YOU! Otherwise you’re selling out and that’s just sad. We were all meant to be our own person and serve a different purpose here on earth… not to be robots!

  • so much yes!!! I just did a major follower clean up and blocked over 200 people! then took a week off and i feel so refreshed and enjoy the platform again 🙂

    • YAY! So glad you are feeling refreshed! It makes a world of difference!

  • You already know my thoughts on all of the above. So I’ll just say…

    PREACH. *praisehands*

  • Kate

Instagram is such a touchy subject for me. I’ve been doing it for about a year and a half now. And while my following has grown from the start of zero numbers, it honestly hasn’t prospered. I recently hit 200 followers and felt great. Now it’s back to under 200. It’s frustrating because I don’t think my content is that bad of quality. For some reason though, my account isn’t growing like other bloggers. I know, I know, it’s not all about the numbers. However, it’s rewarding to know people actually enjoy your content
    Kate || KATE KOUTURES

    • I totally get it Kate! I had two posts today perform at half engagement as usual… so I feel ya! I think I’m just going to limit my time on the platform daily to make it a little easier for me! Hang in there!

  • The quote “comparison is the thief of joy” is so true, and I think IG has been one of the worst platforms for bloggers to unhealthily obsess over the numbers game. Like you said, just do you, and focus on authentically growing your following/engagement. I for one am ready for the app to be fun again, and not worry so much about all the rest! Great post, girl! 🙂

  • I agree when you say, comparison is the thief of joy 😀 you have mentioned valid point here dear, I hate ‘“PLEASE TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS TO SEE MY POSTS!” stuff on Instagram as well as Twitter! 🙁
